Sims presented to the Aviation Section of the American Association for Justice on the importance of cockpit voice recorders and their unique legal status in air disaster litigation. The presentation focused on the history of cockpit voice recorders and highlighted their importance in aviation litigation by discussing aspects of the prosecution of US Airways for the crash of US Airways Flight 1702, which crashed at Philadelphia International Airport on March 13, 2014.
