Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. has reached a $6.4 million settlement on behalf of a woman who suffered bleeding complications following the use of a medical device at a hospital. The settlement was reached as the parties were in final preparations to begin a jury trial that was expected to last several weeks.
The trial team at Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. consisted of David E. Rapoport and Matthew S. Sims. According to attorney Matthew S. Sims, “manufacturers of medical devices have an obligation to properly test their products before they release them to the market. When a manufacturer fails to do so and causes harm, they need to be held accountable, which happened in this case.”
