Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. filed a lawsuit today in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, for the wrongful death of a 37-year-old mother who died of a pulmonary embolism during a hospital admission after undergoing surgery for a fractured shinbone. The lawsuit alleges that due to the negligence of the hospital and physicians managing the patient’s care, she was not given any medication to prevent the development of blood clots after surgery, and once her blood clots developed, she was not timely diagnosed and treated for them. As a result, the patient’s blood clots traveled into her lungs and resulted in her death.
