David Rapoport of Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. was recently invited by the President of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys to serve as Regional Chair in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. Mr. Rapoport agreed to take on this new role in support of the ABPLA and its mission.
For more than four decades, the ABPLA has worked to help the public identify attorneys with the experience, ethics, education, skill and competence to handle medical malpractice and legal malpractice cases. The ABPLA is the only group to receive American Bar Association accreditation to identify and board certify attorneys in these disciplines.
In April of this year, David Rapoport became the only plaintiff’s lawyer in Illinois to become Board Certified* in medical malpractice by the ABPLA. Mr. Rapoport serves as President of the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification and is a dedicated advocate of the view that the public needs reliable information about the qualifications of the lawyers seeking to handle their claims.
Mr. Rapoport accepted the role as Regional Chair from ABPLA President William C. Callaham.
*Board certification is not required to practice law in Illinois, and the Illinois Supreme Court does not recognize specialties in the practice of law.
