Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C., filed suit against Chrysler and a maintenance supervisor today in the Circuit Court of Winnebago County, Illinois. The action arose out of an injury that occurred when a contracted security guard providing security services for Chrysler at their Belvidere, Illinois, facility was called to investigate a fire that started in Chrysler’s parking lot. The security guard slipped and fell on black ice that had formed from the runoff of a pile of plowed snow located on Chrysler’s premises, causing severe injuries. The lawsuit alleges that Chrysler caused an unnatural and unsafe accumulation of snow and ice and, despite being told about the black ice, failed to remove or otherwise address the hazard.
