Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. and Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman filed a wrongful death lawsuit today in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, against pharmaceutical and wholesale drug companies for the death of a 57-year-old man. According to the lawsuit, the man suffered worsening anxiety and depression, began to have extreme thoughts, and took his own life after taking paroxetine, the generic version of Paxil. The lawsuit alleges the companies who were involved in the manufacture and supply of paroxetine knew or should have known of the increased risk of suicidality while taking the drug, concealed that risk, failed to provide proper warnings and as a result are liable for the man’s death.
