Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. attorney Octavio Duran participated as a volunteer for the “Lawyers Lending a Hand” project organized by the Young Lawyers Section of the DuPage County Bar Association. The project strives to provide youth and families with safe, constructive programs to enhance family life and offer a positive influence to the communities.
In following these goals, Mr. Duran assisted in serving food to displaced and impoverished families at the Church of the Brethren. Afterward, Mr. Duran spoke with many of the youth and their parents. Many of the families were single-parent families and Mr. Duran was inspired and amazed at how the single parent has managed to provide for his/her children and managed to keep the family together. “It was truly a privilege to be able to help these families and it was gratifying to see how much they appreciated our assistance and company.”
The program commenced with one of the youth performing a dance for the families present at the event. “I hope I left as great of an impression on them as they did on me.”
