A 47-year-old woman hospitalized in Chicago for a hysterectomy sued the hospital for development and spread of a wound infection she claimed was due to the hospital’s failure to give her the antibiotics her surgeon ordered be given immediately after surgery until 34 hours later. The case was settled today before trial for $350,000.
