Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. has filed a lawsuit in Brown County, Wisconsin, after a baby boy suffered a brain injury during birth. The lawsuit alleges the baby’s mother arrived at the hospital for labor and delivery after an uncomplicated full-term pregnancy. Upon admission all signs indicated the baby was in good health, but during the labor there were signs that the baby was being deprived of oxygen. The lawsuit alleges the nurses and doctor attending to the mother negligently allowed the oxygen deprivation to continue for hours prior to the birth, resulting in the baby sustaining permanent brain damage, including mental disability and epilepsy. Damages are sought for past and future medical expenses, caretaking expenses, loss of earning capacity, pain and suffering, disability and severe emotional distress.
