Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. partners David Rapoport and Michael Teich attended the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Winter Convention in New Orleans. AAJ, the world’s largest trial bar, is dedicated to ensuring fair and effective justice for people injured by the misconduct or negligence of others. The organization’s members work together to promote fairness for injured persons and safeguard victims’ rights — particularly the right to trial by jury.
As President of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, David Rapoport was an invited speaker during the AAJ convention. Mr. Rapoport addressed a group of attorneys and judges regarding the growing importance of board certification for trial lawyers. Board certification benefits the public by providing an easy means to identify the small portion of lawyers who have proven substantial experience trying lawsuits. In addition to many important AAJ convention activities, Rapoport Weisberg & Sims P.C. partner Michael Teich participated in a volunteer project organized by the Injury Board at a boys and girls garden in the Seventh Ward, an area still struggling to recover from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. The garden provides a safe and interesting environment where local kids participate in growing fruits and vegetables which are consumed locally.
