Rapoport Weisberg Sims & VanOverloop filed a lawsuit today in a medical malpractice case involving delayed treatment of a heart attack in a hospital’s emergency room. It is alleged that the delay lead to substantial heart muscle damage and permanent disability.
The patient was treated and released from the Department of Emergency Services at a Chicago-area hospital the afternoon of February 22, 2002. Later that evening the plaintiff returned to the same hospital and went through registration at the Department of Emergency Services again.
